Oak Security Concepts Secures the 77th Annual Glennville Rodeo
Over Memorial Day weekend, the hills of Glennville, California echoed with cheers, country music, and the unmistakable sound of hooves hitting dirt. The 77th Annual Glennville Round-Up Rodeo brought thousands of spectators together to celebrate Western heritage, professional rodeo sport, and community spirit. This long-standing event, proudly sanctioned by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA), is more than just entertainment—it's a beloved tradition in Kern County.
This year, Oak Security Concepts was honored to provide full-scale security coverage for the Glennville Rodeo, ensuring a safe, smooth, and enjoyable experience for all attendees, participants, and vendors. From the early morning parade to the final rodeo ride, our team was on the ground to manage risk, support operations, and help the event run without incident.
A Weekend of Family, Fun, and Tradition
The rodeo festivities spanned the entire weekend, culminating on Sunday, May 25, 2025. Attendees were treated to a lineup of exhilarating events, including bull riding, saddle bronc riding, barrel racing, and the ever-popular Mutton Bustin' for the young cowboys and cowgirls. The event also featured a vibrant parade, live concerts, delicious food from local vendors, and a patriotic grand entry that set the tone for the celebrations.
Since its founding in 1948, the Glennville Rodeo has grown to become one of the most anticipated Memorial Day events in the region. Run by the dedicated volunteers of the Greenhorn Mountain Veterans Association (GMVA), the rodeo blends tradition with modern rodeo sport, showcasing events like bull riding, saddle bronc riding, barrel racing, team roping, and the crowd-favorite Mutton Bustin’.
Supporting a Legacy Event with Modern Security
For an event of this magnitude, behind-the-scenes logistics are just as critical as the action in the arena. That’s where Oak Security Concepts came in. From the moment we were selected to provide security services, we worked closely with the rodeo committee and local authorities to understand the unique needs of the venue. Glennville may be a small town, but managing thousands of visitors—many unfamiliar with the terrain—requires professional planning and precise execution.
We believe security isn’t just about being visible—it’s about being present, prepared, and proactive.
For the Glennville Rodeo, our team provided:
Access Control & Entry Point Management: From early morning ticket holders to late-night concert attendees, we ensured that entrances remained organized, safe, and secure.
Parking & Perimeter Patrols: With limited infrastructure in a rural setting, parking and perimeter management were crucial. Our guards monitored vehicle flow, kept fire lanes clear, and ensured safe pedestrian areas.
Crowd Safety: The rodeo arena and festival grounds can become crowded quickly. Our presence helped keep walkways open, maintained calm during high-energy moments, and assisted attendees when needed.
Emergency Preparedness: Though the weekend was incident-free, our team was trained and prepared for medical situations, missing persons, weather risks, and more.
Our guards weren’t just standing by—they were integrated into the event. They assisted vendors, answered questions from guests, and helped make families feel comfortable bringing their children to a large public event.
Community First
One of the highlights for our team was being part of something deeply rooted in community pride. From the patriotic opening ceremonies to the heartfelt tributes to veterans, the Glennville Rodeo represents the best of small-town America. Being trusted with the safety of this event was not just a job—it was a privilege.
Many of our team members have law enforcement or military backgrounds, and for them, working an event honoring veterans added personal meaning. We’re proud to contribute to an event that gives back, supports local businesses, and brings together multiple generations.
Reflections & Looking Ahead
The Glennville Rodeo reminded us why we do what we do. Security isn't just about minimizing risk—it's about creating peace of mind so people can be fully present in the moment. Whether it’s a child riding their first sheep in the Mutton Bustin’, a rider making a qualifying time in team roping, or a vendor selling out of lemonade on a hot day, our role is to support those moments happening safely.
We extend our thanks to the Glennville Rodeo Committee and the Greenhorn Mountain Veterans Association for the opportunity to be part of such a historic and beloved event. And we salute the countless volunteers who helped make the weekend a success.
If you’re planning a public or private event and want a security team that blends professionalism, discretion, and true care for community—Oak Security Concepts is ready to help.
